Art is central to our curriculum because we recognize that self-expression
and creativity are essential to learning, brain development and high academic
performance. The practice of art enhances many important disciplines of
learning while helping children to develop good work habits, problem-solving
skills and self-reliance.
Our arts program includes:
Preschool students may choose
to work with our art specialists in their classrooms 4-5 mornings a week. Preschoolers also rotate through music classes with our music specialist in our dedicated music classroom.
Elementary students (grades K-4) meet with one of our music specialists twice a week and one of our art specialists twice a week.
Middle school students (grades 5-8) enroll in music, art and drama classes as part of the middle school Selectives program.
