Our preschool and kindergarten are fully enrolled for the 2011-12 school year, and we are no longer accepting applications for these grades for 2011-12.

For enrollment in fall of 2012, preschool applicants must be 3 years old by August  31, 2012 and able to go to the bathroom on their own.

Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by August 31, 2012.

To apply for admission to our preschool or kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year, complete the steps outlined below. We have an online application; paper applications are available during tours and Open Houses. Please visit the school before applying.

Preschool Admission Dates (for fall 2012 enrollment)

• application deadline: Thursday, December 15, 2011
• decision letters mailed: Thursday, March 1, 2012
• second round applications considered after March 8, 2012

Kindergarten Admission Dates (for fall 2012 enrollment)

• application deadline: Tuesday, January 3, 2012
• decision letters mailed: Thursday, March 15, 2012
• second round applications considered after March 22, 2012

Preschool and Kindergarten Admission Procedure

1. Schedule school visit.
2. Return completed application and parent/guardian statement with a family photo and a $75 application fee.
3. Submit teacher evaluation form to child's teacher after December 1 (preschool, toddler class, child care, etc.); teachers need to return completed form directly to CDS.
4. Arrange student visit and parent conversation (scheduled by Admission Office). After your application is complete, the Admission Office will schedule a time for your family to visit CDS. Prospective preschoolers visit one of our preschool classrooms on a Saturday in January with their parents for 45 minutes. Prospective kindergarten students visit in one of our kindergarten classrooms on a Saturday in January or February for one hour. In addition, the Admission Office will schedule a 20-30 minute parent conversation for prospective preschool and kindergarten parents with a member of the kindergarten admission team.
