It is our ongoing goal to encourage wide and generous community ownership and investment in CDS. Like other non-profit schools, CDS relies on donations as well as tuition to fund classroom programs, support sliding scale tuition and upgrade our historic campus. Tuition does not cover the full cost of educating a child, and fundraising is essential to keep CDS and its programs and people strong. We ask all families, friends, staff and faculty to make a meaningful financial contribution to CDS. For each fundraising initiative, every donation counts.
The CDS community is very generous, and our goal is 100% parent participation every year. We encourage families to make CDS their top philanthropic priority, and we sincerely appreciate each gift and the spirit that such generosity fosters in our community.
All families are asked to participate in the Annual Fund each fall. Annual Fund donations support sliding scale tuition, purchases of classroom materials and all of the programs at CDS. In the spring, parents are invited to attend Fiesta, a fun and lively evening party and auction. All proceeds from Fiesta benefit the school’s sliding scale tuition program. Funding for major facilities improvements and additions to our historic campus (including the acquisition of 601 Dolores Street) comes from periodic capital campaigns.
Children’s Day School is a 501(c)(3) organization; donations to CDS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our tax ID number is 94-3248631.
