Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month and Banned Books Week

Hispanic and Latine Heritage Month is going on now through October 15.
The CDS Library team has put together a book list Celebrating Hispanic/Latine voices, as well as a list of Spanish Bilingual Books in our library collection. Be sure to check out community events and programming happening at the San Francisco Public Library.

And speaking of books, September 18-24 marks the annual Banned Books Week where we celebrate our freedom to read. The theme of this year’s event is “Books Unite Us. Censorship Divides Us.” By focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship. Here are the Top 10 Challenged Books of 2021.
